Kent improves at the Inter-Counties!

Tunbridge Wells provided four players for the Kent team this year (Jon Diamond, Jolyon Creasey, John Greenwood and Alex Jardine) for the annual CA Association Croquet Inter-Counties event. This Doubles competition was held over the last four days at Southwick and Compton, so provided as usual a variety of experiences, many missed short roquets and blobbed hoops, amusing(?) antics, potential angst, and much friendly rivalry (sometimes wanting not to be promoted to Division 1).

We improved our position over the last few years, winning three matches out of 10 in Division 2 and therefore ending up 9/11. Notable was our win over Oxfordshire, who fielded one of our local members, Martin Lester, and came second in the Division. Promotion is beckoning in 5 or 6 years time if we continue improving at this rate…
