Internal Competitions
We have a full range of internal individual competitions for Association and Golf, both handicap and non-handicap. Our doubles competitions typically pair high and low handicappers to encourage some informal coaching. In addition we have a Golf Teams event, run on Tuesday evenings throughout the season. Matches
We play matches (for tournaments see below) against other clubs in the South East Croquet Federation (SECF) in both the Association and Golf Leagues. Sometimes we also play in the Croquet Association inter-club competitions.
Teams of four play four matches (two at home and two away) during the year in (usually) six of the Leagues – three Association and three Golf Croquet. These are very friendly and great FUN. Everyone who puts their name down should get selected for at least one match. The club pays for the entry fees for these; in addition we subsidise travel for Away matches and lunches for Home matches.

Association Leagues: The B League is handicap play and typically for “improvers” with handicaps 10-20. We have struggled for enough people to sign-up to make a team for this recently. Offers welcome!
The U League is also handicap play and is open to better players as well. The A League is Advanced (Level) play for the better players in the Club (handicaps under 10).
Golf Croquet Leagues: there’s one league for traditional Handicap play, and two for Level play (ie no bisques/extra turns). The Handicap is open to all (we try to use players with handicaps 5+), the second league is restricted to handicaps 2 and above, while the third is typically only for the better players (handicaps less than 5).

Tournaments
We run a number of one day Association and Golf events, as well as two day Association ones in the Croquet Association calendar.

The SECF organises a number of one and two-day team tournaments throughout the year that the club participates in. These are all usually teams of 4 players (3 players for the One Ball). For more details and exact dates please see the SECF Diary http://www.southeastcroquet.org.uk.

We’ll definitely enter and pay for the One Ball, two Golf events and the Golf Ladies Day and will support entry in the others if there are volunteers for team captains, please!
