Opening Day sees unveiling of John Hobb’s bench

John Hobbs bench unveiling with his family and the new trophy.
The opening day was rather low key with only four entrants for our traditional one ball CqE charity tournament.  Well done to Kate who won again this year and winning all her matches.  Unfortunately, none of the players were available for the regional final at Surbiton.
£40 was raised for the British Heart Foundation.
Mark Hobbs and family marked the presentation of the bench and the new trophy (which will be awarded to the most improved club player of the year – AC or GC).
The family also presented a photo of John making a champagne toast, which was echoed by them making a similar toast to John at the bench.  By coincidence it was John Hobbs’s birthday that day.
