Tom Carpenter wins the Montevideo Cup

Tom Carpenter from Tunbridge Wells won our annual Open Golf Croquet level play tournament (Montevideo Cup) on Saturday 2nd June, beating the previous winner, Liz Farrow from Sussex County, in the 19 point final 10-7.

It’s fairly clear from the results that Tom’s handicap of 3 was incorrect, as he won all his games, so a reduction to 1 was made by our club handicapper. It seems likely that a further reduction is to be expected…

A full house of 12 players enjoyed very pleasant weather, good lawns (not very fast though) and nice catering!
